行政書士に役立つマーケティングの話を例え話で書いております。
第一回目は「アライさんのクリーニング店」
行政書士と同じ問題を持つ起業について考えながら読んでみてください。

「⑤STPと独自性」

クリーニング事業を開始したアライグマのアライさんと、カブトムシ販売事業を手がけたレッサーパンダのクロハラさんは、互いの事業展開、どちらが高い利益を上げるのかを競争することにしましたが、クロハラさんの事業は時流に合わなくなり、事業は縮小。一方アライさんのクリーニング店はネットのクチコミで次第に売上が増加してきました。そこでアライさんは兼ねてより抱いていたビジネスを試すことに・・・

＞＞「①プロダクトアウトとマーケットイン編」
＞＞「②需要と供給」
＞＞「③セグメンテーションとプロモーションの選択」
＞＞「④時流適応とブランディング」


今回は4年目の半年を過ぎた頃にアライさんがクロハラさんに相談をしている様子です。

「クロハラくん！ちょっとこの服を着てみてくれないかな？」」

「突然なんだい！？ひょっとしてアライくんとこでクリーニングした服かな？」

「そうだよ。サイズは君にピッタリのワイシャツとスーツ。ささ、試してみて」

「・・・・・・。うんうん、すごくパリっとしてて気持ちがいいね。スーツもすごく型が出来ていて卸したてのようだ・・・。」

「そうでしょ！このキレイにするだけじゃなくて、スーツの蘇る感じが、ウチの特徴なんだ。」

「なるほど、なるほど。昨年ネットでクチコミが広がったと聞いてはいたけど、こうやって実際に体験すると、君の技術の素晴らしさが良くわかるね。でも、前にも言ったようにこれはあくまでクリーニングの技術が上位に入るだけだね。確か前はブランディングするためのウリがあると言ってたよね。」

「そうなんだ。そこで、今度はこっちを着てみてくれない？」

「・・・・・・・。うんうん、変わらず綺麗な型がついているようだけど・・・？」

「他にも何か、気が付かない？」

「いや～、別に・・・。あ、いや、なんか良い匂いがするね・・・。この服・・・。」

「それに比べて前のスーツはどう思う？」

「あ～。これはクリーニングしたての独特の嫌な匂いがするね・・・。」

「でしょ。それはクリーニングで水の代りに使っているテトラクロロエチレンなど、石油系の有機溶剤の匂いなんだ。通常のクリーニング店のほとんどはぶっちゃけて言うと、この有機溶剤でのクリーニング後、すすぎを一切しない。パリっとさせるためなんだね。だけど、僕は自身がビジネスマンとして働く中で、パリっと綺麗にはしておきたいけど、この匂いをなんとかできないかと研究し続けてきたんだよ。そして独自の液剤とすすぎを含めた新たな工程によって、良い匂いで汚れもバッチリ落とし、にもかかわらず、パリっとさわやかなクリーニングを実現したのさ。」

「これは、すごいね・・・。アライくん、君の発想と技術は僕の想像以上だよ・・。」

「ありがとう。僕がクリーニングにこだわったわけ。今ならわかってもらえるかな？」

「そうだな～。マーケットインであるべきマーケティング戦略も、アライくんのようなプロダクトアウトの商品を扱う場合、STPが明確で差別化に自身があるならば、問題がないね。それなら、はじめに言ってくれたら良かったのに・・・。」

「ごめんよ。でもアライグマ協会でもクリーニングの裏事情を批判的に扱う者には風当たりも強いし、僕自身このアイデアがどこまで実現できるか、わからなかったから、一度業界に入ってみるしかないと思ってたんだ。」

「アライくん、君は意外と計算高いんだね・・・。」

「そうでもないと思うけど・・・。ところで、さっき言ったSTPていうのは何？」

「STPというのはマーケティング戦略で重要な手順の頭文字をとったものさ。まず、Sがセグメンテーション。」

「あ！それは前に教えてもらったね・・・。市場を限定して、自身の持つ経営資源を効率的に用いるってことだよね・・・。」

「さすが、アライくん。キチンと学んだことをモノにしているね。ちなみにここでのセグメンテーションはもっと限定的に市場をいくつかの基準で区分化することと、しておくよ例えば、年齢、性別、居住地などだね。君の場合は年齢と職業の区分けになるね」

「そうだね～。無意識だったけどね・・・。じゃあTっていうのは何？」

「Tはターゲティングさ。先のセグメンテーションした区分のどこをターゲットにするかを選定することで、漠然とした消費者の中から見込み客になりうるターゲットを決めること」

「僕の場合は、青年～中年の男性（職業でいうとスーツを着る仕事）または、その奥さん達だね・・・。じゃあ、Pはプロモーションだ！確か『広告』とか見込み客に購入を促す『SP』、『人的販促活動』なんかがあったよね・・・」

「う～ん、残念・・・。君の勤勉さには頭が下がるけど、ここでいうPはポジショニングになる。 ターゲテイングした市場に対して、どのようなポジションを占めたいのかを決めることさ、例えば同じ風邪薬を販売するとしても『即効性』をウリにするとか、『飲みやすさ』をウリにするとか『胃にやさしい』をウリにするとかいろいろ考えられるでしょ？」


「なるほど～。僕の今回の発想はポジショニングとしてどう考えられるのかな？」

「ポジショニングをする上では、 市場のニーズと提供するモノの価値、差別化できるポイント、すなわち独自性を考慮する必要があるね。だから君の場合、多くのビジネスマンやその奥さんが『クリーニングすると臭い』という不満があるのにそれに応える体勢が、協会の方でできていない。そして匂いがしないどころか、良い匂いがするという価値ある商品を提供することができる。これは完全にニッチな分野での独自性を築くことができるんだ。最近のクリーニング事業はスピードや値段の競争が過多してしまっていて、業界そのものが危ういけれども、君の新しいビジネスはその中で、充分通用するものであることが間違いはないね・・・。」


「クロハラくんにそう言ってもらえると、心強いよ。これで今年は新しい分野で勝負する勇気が出てきた。後学のためにもう少し、差別化や独自性について教えてくれないかな。」

「アライくんは本当に勤勉だね。独自性や差別化のポイントは主に3つあるよ。①商品そのものの独自性、②提供形態での独自性、③顧客対応での独自性の3つさ」

「商品の独自性はなんとなくわかるけど、提供形態とか、顧客対応の独自性ていうのはどういうもの？」


「提供形態の独自性ていうのは例えば、どこよりも早く提供されること、分かりやすいのは注文した翌日に文房具が届く『アシタクル』とかね・・・。他には、どんな国のどんなマイナーな商品でも買える『カラゾン』のCD物販。」


「その点でいえば、スピード仕上げのクリーニング店は一応、理に適っているんだね・・・。」


「いや、これは独自性の提供形態だから、どこの店でも真似できるようなスピード提供ではダメだよ。アシタクルも二番煎じ、三番煎じがどんどん増えたら苦戦するだろうね・・・」


「あ、そうか。あくまで独自性の話だったね・・・。じゃあ、顧客対応の独自性は？」

「これはまず、信頼性だろうね・・・。マヨネーズなら『チューピー』って、会社名だけでも安心して買っちゃうでしょ？　これはもちろん継続的な努力が求められるけど、『シャバネットたけだ』のように顧客情報漏えい事件を起こしてしまっても、それを潔く認め、すぐに対策を講じ、結果的に業界の中で飛び出した管理体制を築いたイメージをウリにできるケースもある。この転んでもただでは起きない精神には僕も感服したよ。あとは、情報提供とかかな。単に商品を売るだけじゃなくて、顧客に役立つ情報を大量に提供できる。服屋なら、最近のファッションのトレンドや、顧客の肌色とスーツの色の相性などのアドバイス、情報を提供できる従業員を育てているとかね・・・。」


「なるほど～。お店の信頼力自体が独自性に繋がる場合もあるのか！！情報提供をたくさんできるというのも、その店の器の広さというか、結果的に信頼に繋がりそうだね・・・。」


「そうなんだ。その点で、君の商品自体の独自性に加え、かつてのクリーニングのデメリットなんかを詳細に情報提供するという組み合わせは相乗効果になりそうだね。」


「おお！ますますやる気が出てきたぞ！いつもながら、クロハラくんありがとう。君と話しているといろいろなアイデアが生まれたり、経営が楽しくなってくるよ。」

「どういたしまして。今年の成長が楽しみだね。」
